Chamber classical music concert featuring A. Dvořák, C. Debussy, G. Bizet...

This delightful classical concert featuring popular classical works takes place in a beautiful Baroque palace in Lesser Town district. All participating musicians are members of the famous Prague Symphony Orchestra and other acclaimed Czech ensembles and orchestras. Hence you can expect a wonderful experience.

Parnas Ensemble (5 - 8 members):

A chamber orchestra composed of members of Prague Symphony Orchestra and other acclaimed Czech ensembles and orchestras. For its brilliant art and virtuosity Parnas Ensemble won a well-deserved popularity. Its versatile and extensive repertoire enables the Parnas Ensemble to offer classical (Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Smetana, Dvořák, Beethoven etc.) and contemporary music for varied occasions.

Since 2007, the ensemble has recorded two CDs with the most popular classical tunes, performed many concerts, especially in Rudolfinum–the prestigious concert house in Prague, and toured Japan with a great success in 2012 as well as in 2014. The Parnas Ensemble aims to satisfy not only the music critics but first, and foremost, its audience of listeners.

The impressive Liechtenstein Palace: the seat of Prague Academy of Music and a favourite concert venue

The Liechtenstein Palace was built on the grounds of five city houses in 1591 and rebuilt in Classical style in 18th cenutry. The princely family of Lichtensteins gradually lost interest in the Palace and sold it to the Earl of Ledebour. Later on, the Palace housed many different institutions, until finally in 1980´s it was acquired by the Academy of Musical Arts.

It was beautifully reconstructed and adjusted for the purposes of the Academy. Nowadays, the Liechtenstein Palace is literally full of music! The Liechtenstein Palace is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

Prijemny koncert. Ponekud kratke 60 , max.65min. v pomeru k cene. Skladby hrane ve zkracene veriante. Libil se nam.

We booked this on impulse whilst visiting Prague from Lont on a 4 day trip, and absolutely loved it! Amazingly talented musicians with a sense of humour. There was a small coffee shop if you got there a bit early. The seats were all on one level, but to be honest it didn't matter to us, if it bothers you then buy the more expensive tickets to make sure you're in the front section.

The Parnas Ensemble is excellent and has very good energy as a performance group. This venue felt a lot like a church basement with not great sight lines and it was very hot. But the acoustics were excellent.

Watching the artists perform was as entertaining as listening to their music. It was obvious they loved making music.

Velmi kvalitní interpretace a výborní hudebníci - děkuji! Výběr melodií byl však na můj vkus až příliš "rádiový".

Parnas ensamble byli skveli. Klasicke melodie vazne hudby prokladali rozvernejsimi skladbami, kdy vybrnkavali na struny housli prsty. Krasny zazitek z hudby rusilo pouze jeviste, ktere slouzilo i jako skladiste prebytecnych zidli. Atmosfera koncertu by mohla byt jeste lepsi pokud by se v sale trochu snizila intenzita osvetleni.

The programme and performance was great, if a little short. The event was advertised as free seating and I purchased top priced tickets and arrived 30 minutes before the show only to discover that only side seats remained available. All the rest had already been alocated. Most disappointing and not as advertised.
